Sophie is a star, and last month during the almighty cold we went out into Hylands Park where I took a few snaps of her with her very lovely girlfriend Lynsey. Here are a few of my favourites:
I've recently had the absolute pleasure of working at a garden party in Hook End for Louise's 14th birthday. It was such a fab day; the garden was beautiful, the sun came out, and all of these girls where so wonderful to work with... they just had a jolly old knees up and weren't at all camera shy. There were glasses of bubbly, fancy dress, a home made cake (a-la the young Nigella in the cream bomber), and good old fashioned party games. It was great. The girls had a super day and I had a really fun job going back through all of their pictures afterwards. I ended up giving Louise a USB with the same amount of photos that I would for a wedding as there were just too many big grins and winning shots to be left out! Last week the lovely Borg family welcomed a beautiful new baby girl into their family, I popped in to visit them in their Brentwood home while Amelie was less than a week old. She was a breeze to work with and it was a lovely afternoon spent with mum Sarah, dad and her 2 year old big brother. These beautiful faces belong to Livvy, Phoenix, Katie, Olivia, Finley and Zak who have each turned me completely mushy and soppy-eyed. These shoots are so much fun, I love going from home to home, having a natter and sharing a pot of tea with the mums while we coo over their little ones, waiting (or sometimes dancing) to get their best smiles or send them calmly to sleep. Here are a few of my favourites: Jeans son, Pete contacted me a few weeks before his mums birthday with news that he was planning a big celebration that would bring together family, friends and people who knew Jean from the days when she was running a dance school in Romford - www.hewittperformingarts.co.uk - On the day so many people came who clearly adored Jean and it was a very heart warming gathering, organized by such a lovely family. Pete loved the pictures that I took and I ended up burning 42 DVDs, gift wrapping and posting out the images to his mums nearest and dearest as-well as a video compilation with tracks on from the days of Jeans musical theater. The Hewitts have lived in the same small village as me for many years and the catering they bought in was also by a local company - www.bonnecuisine.co.uk - who provided a very delicious high tea for all the guests. It was in its entirety a very lovely day, and you can see a glimpse of it below: If you enjoyed this, find more from blog posts here
This month I have been working on lots of projects, from proms & parties to babies to weddings, and that means for lots of editing and handing over of the finished products. Caroline and Martin have already received their pictures and invited me in while they took their first look through them all. They loved them and especially the shots of their family and three little granddaughters. Next I'm handing over the photos from Karen and Geoffs wedding, along with the picture that I've framed up - hopefully the first image from their big day to be shown off in their new home. They've already seen a few photos that I've blogged from the luxury of their honeymoon suite and I'm looking forward to giving them the rest now that they're arriving back home.
This week Gaynes High School had their year 11 Prom and the lovely Jessi Vann invited me along while she was getting ready, a few snaps with her friends and seeing them off before they all left in very fancy style for Stock Brook Country Club in the flashest hummer I've ever seen. If you were there on the day or just want to see a few more, I've created a gallery of all the prom-goers group shots which you can see here. I hope you enjoy flicking through the pictures. At Baddow Park, Chelmsford Last week Karen and Geoff had the most beautiful and laid back wedding set in Baddow Park, a stunning venue and the home of Annie Gough who has opened her doors so that happy couples like these two can have their big days in this great setting. Karen and Geoff only chose to have a handful of family and friends with them to celebrate their day and it made for a very calm and intimate wedding. They were also lucky enough to have picked one of the hottest days of the summer so got to enjoy their informal barbecue outside in a stunning little nook in the garden, and it meant that we were able to explore the grounds properly to get all the best shots that we could. Here's (quite a long) peak of their day... Grab a cup of tea and put your feet up while these scroll through. I hope you enjoy them. What a funny evening! I have been told that when the Vanns were growing up they used to have nights when they would throw the men out of the house and have the best of times filled with music, drinks and dancing. So for Linda's 65th this year, they did the same again and had a surprise party only for the girls, with lots of laughter, presents and Linda-masks.... you'll see what I mean: Here's a glimpse of a lovely laid back wedding celebrated at the Holiday Inn in Brentwood. Caroline and Martin made a stiflingly hot summers day a wonderfully calm event, very much about bringing family and friends together and having a good old party... I heard they were dancing away that night until 1 am! I'm really grateful to have been asked to join in with their day and to get these snaps: |
